Aim of the course

This is a practical course will enable postgraduate students acquire research and academic writing skills for doing and writing a research dissertation successfully

 

Content

  • Gain understanding of different types of research philosophy and approaches
  • Choosing an appropriate research design and methods for your research problem/question
  • How to design effective research instruments and data collection methodology
  • Essential elements to cover in different parts/chapters of a postgraduate dissertation
  • How to communicate your research clearly through effective academic writing

 

Facilitator

Professor Carmel McNaught, Emeritus Professor of Learning Enhancement, served as editorial board member for more than 18 international journals, taught Research Methods courses at postgraduate level, supervised several postgraduate students, examined several doctoral and masters theses, consultant on research design & expert on academic writing and editing
