Research and academic writing for publication

This 3-day course is designed to enable anyone working in the academic research environment in higher education and research institutions to develop a detailed understanding of the principles of scientific research design and execution, academic writing style, and publication strategy in a contemporary context. Participants will find the course useful for developing and increasing their research, writing and publication skills and output. The course is delivered over three days with topics covering research design and execution, academic writing, and publication strategy.

  • Writing critical literature reviews and problem statements
  • Referred journal papers – practice and process including strategies for dealing with the peer review process

  • Playing within the rules of the publishing game and international standards for measuring research quality and impact
