Academic practice development programme

All lecturers have to pursue excellence in several directions, most notably in teaching, research and scholarship, supervision of research students, and academic administration. Academic practice is a term that encompasses all these facets. This 4-day course is designed to provide lecturers with a unique opportunity to develop the different facets of their academic roles comprehensively and thereby enhance the skills they require to perform their roles with greater competence and confidence.  Due to its comprehensive nature, the course is delivered over four days with the main focus areas being on teaching and learning in higher education, research and scholarship, supervising research students, and academic administration. We encourage higher education institutions to provide their lecturers, especially those in the early stages of their career, with an all-round opportunity to develop and enhance their academic practice skills through the provision of this course.
